Next Generation runs a range of youth and community projects for the benefit of local people.
Get InvolvedWorking with the Lightwaves and the 5Sport teams to deliver the WF Happy Healthy Holiday programme for 12 to 16 year olds.
Starting in August 2021 and continuing into 2025. Hopefully to continue into 2026.
The next programme starts on Tuesday 07 April 2026, 12 noon to 4 pm.

The Nxt Gen Legends (Motiv8) project aims to develop the next generation of young community leaders and activists in Wakefield. We welcome young people from different cultures, faiths and backgrounds to come and get involved. This project is kindly funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
The Friends of Stanley Royd Playing Fields Scheme is part of the Next Generation Youth and Community Project. The scheme is to provide a clean, safe, secure and usable outside space for individuals and family members of the local community.
The Barratt’s Road Community Garden Scheme is part of the Next Generation Youth and Community Project. The scheme is to provide a clean, safe, secure and usable garden area for all of the local community.
Young people from Next Generation are collecting stories that tell the history of the Pakistani community over the past 70 years.
I would stand in the street watching the older kids play during the summer. In particular, I would watch the 4 Ahmed brothers who lived directly opposite our house play cricket in their back garden.
